Old Gas Station in Huntington, WV
The owner of an old gas station in Huntington, WV took the station building back over after about 15 years of neglect, removed old cars and trash. Started with a little paint and lighting. I called him and asked if I could come over and look around today, IT WAS HIGH 60's not bad for Winter in February!!!!!!!! Shadetree and I have talked about the old station for years, now it is starting to look GREAT.

How about a street address for those of us who might be driving through that area?

Re: Old Gas Station in Huntington, WV
Wish him luck ...Hope it stays that way ... We have 3 old stations near me... Not as nice.. 1# is a small hardware store now. 2# has a shape of a 1 gallon oil can filler w/ spout and the 3# is a empty store with its tall wooden columns where the gas pumps were under.

Re: Old Gas Station in Huntington, WV
I drove by there Thursday afternoon. Several of us guys from the Nitro Antique Car Club were in town to visit the Taylor Museum. I've watched that station deteriorate since I was at Marshall University in the early 1970's. I'm glad the owner is finally starting to restore the building. I'll have to get some pics of my cars in front of it this summer. Thanks for posting!

Re: Old Gas Station in Huntington, WV
How old is it Bruce?
Maybe you can check that out by viewing some old city directories. Wonder what "brand" it started out to be? Pluck |

Re: Old Gas Station in Huntington, WV
Told that station was built in 20's/30's, also that it was a Quaker State? In the 50's/60's sold Cushman Scooters.
