Default gauge condensers

king sealy gauges run a condenser on the oil gauge ok i understand that pulse type gauges run points so a condenser should extend point life [just like the ignition system ] so how come that they appear to be missing from the fuel and temp gauges they are both pulse type gauges are they not fitted or did some brightspark remove them

I thought the condenser on the oil pressure sender was to suppress AM radio noise, at least that's why it's on on my '40.

yes it would suppress the noise which is a byproduct of micro arcing as the points open and close a condenser absorbs this micro arcing stopping the points burning

Per instructions, the RC-1 condenser was installed on the oil pressure sender when the radio was installed. Previously, there was no condenser on the sender, and the instructions did not require them on the fuel and temperature senders. It seems that condensers were only required for radios and for no other reason.

I owned at one time a very original 38 Ford club coupe with all the original wiring. There was a condenser on the oil sender, generator, and fuel sender. The car had a factory radio and all the condensers had a Ford script on them.

I have an original 37 FORDOR Deluxe, with Radio. It has condensers in all the same three locations as TJ's 38.
