I'm sure, you already have many projects on the back burner. I, taught electrical trades high school, had an electrical construction company in operation, bought and rebuilt residential houses, etc. To this day, I don't know how I survived. When, I finally retired, it always seemed, that I won't have enough time to do my added projects. It does fall into place, it happens and it is real nice.

Good luck to you and many years of mechanical projects too you....Dave

I don't know you, but congrats on your retirement. For me it was the opposite. I enjoyed my work as an engineer and had a tough time adapting. It took about 3 years before I felt comfortable again. Now I wouldn't trade it for anything.

91 weeks (but who's counting) and then I will join your ranks. Looks like you already have a handle on it. Now enjoy it and stay healthy and make the government pay you for a long time.

Good luck in your retirement and in completion of the many new projects that will surely pop up that you have not thought about. I want to publicly thank you for assisting in the MARC 2007 National Meet in Williamsburg, VA.

Wick,
I know that feeling of the last day on the job. I was a newspaper pressman for 44 years. I worked in three different shops during my career. I worked for 26 years in my last shop. I so looked forward to retirement, but it was kind of an unsettling feeling knowing I was walking out for the last time. The good news is that there is no more wonderful feeling when you wake in the morning and ask yourself this question; "What am I going to do today?", and, the answer is always the same; "Anything you want!". Best of luck to you and enjoy your retirement. You have earned it.

Same feeling here Dick. On my way into the job on my last day, a song came over the radio by Madonna 'The party's over say Good-bye'

That is when it really hit me, I had made a lot of good friends at work and now it was all going away. Left a lump in my throat. Glad to be retired but there ARE mixed feelings------

Wick don't know you either, but it will be nice. Didn't bother me one bit my last day. Had a few friends there but some were not friends so it was a wash. One of my friends bet me I'd be back in 3 months wanting to work, that was 2 yrs. ago and haven't seen him since my last day. Had a previous a job of 35 yrs. and 9 months before the above stated one. Didn't bother me when I left it either. Had a brother that worked there also, said he wished he could have left too. Now he's retired also. We're both healthy so that's a good thing. Good luck with your retirement.

I've been retired for 6years but I've noticed that in retirements, there are no holidays!!!
Actually, I've retired 3 times so far.
