Positive post on original coil
I can't tell the positive from the negative post on my original coil. Can someone identify them as looking from the front of the car toward the cowl? Positive on the left or right?

Re: Positive post on original coil
Ford switched the primary terminals at the end of 1929, so ALMOST every slant pole coil has the + on the driver's side (left), and all the straight pole coils that I know of have the + on the passenger side (right). I do have a slant pole coil with the + on the right, so the change in the wiring schematic and primary terminals wasn't exactly at the same time, or this one coil was a mistake.
It's always best to do a polarity check when done, just to be sure. |
