It’s my understanding that the 1938 edition lists only items that were still available at that time. I’ve had the reprint for 50 years and refer to it often, I’ve always found it helpful. Body styles are shown in italics under the listings and I’ve helped others online with which window regulators for example might crossover through multiple years or even body styles.

Please look at your reprint copy again. You will note parts with an A prefix, which predates the 81A prefix by six model years. There's also lots of B, 40, 48, 68, and 78 part number prefix items as well. I could be wrong (again) and perhaps the reprint copy differs significantly from the original by excluding items that are in the original, just as they did with the '34 chassis parts catalog reprint. My references are to an original version, not to a reprint |
