At the heart of all that mess is a car I really, really want. Have to lose the fire engine red paint, of course....

It's a DeLuxe Roadster. Don't you guys know your Model A's? They all get gussied up. I think it is because they respond to the type of affection that costs $$$. They way they slink and purr when they get fitted with some new shiny bit -- you'd think they were built in Auburn Indiana!

Also spare tire mounted mirrors. Every driver needs 3 mirrors on each side!

It wouldn't take too long to rip most of that stuff off and make it a sharp car.

I really like "Tires are all brand new size: 4.75 X 19 inches, The cost were $495.00 each."

I think he deserves the Peabody Award for his writing skills... possibly the Mark Twain Award for humor, and the BS Award, just because. Then he could mount those on the car, too.

For the most part those are all era correct accessories. I for one would like to own the car. Dual spotlights, 3 door hood, fog lights, beauty rings, the emergency brake release, spare tire covers, and i'm sure much more that i'm forgetting. All those alone are worth a lot of money, not to mention the deluxe roadster they're sitting on.

I contacted an old time club member and he said the car was restored in Wichita about 20 years ago. The guy moved to Arkansas and we lost track of him then. The tag on the front is from Sedgwick County which is Wichita.

That's what I paid for one 21" Universal. It was tubeless. It didn't work without a tube. Don't ask me how I know. I had to pay another $495.00 for a spare. That came tubeless, too. It didn't work without a tube. Don't ask me how I know. Then the right rear tire went south. My tubeless spare didn't work. It wouldn't hold any air. The man at the garage said it was because I had "summer air" in it.

Geez, it is what it is, a buggy he made the way he wanted.

It is very interesting and would be fun to hear the history.

I hope he has a good a prosperous Thanksgiving.
