38 temp gauge
Picked up this cool survivor 38 Deluxe last week and started doing a little work on it to make sure it's roadworthy. P.O. left new coil/generator and dash wiring looms in the trunk so I thought I would replace them. Concern is the capillary tube for the temp gauge is frozen in the head. Any suggestions as to how to get it out? Being soaking it and tapping on it so far. No luck.

Re: 38 temp gauge
I've borrowed a Ford tool made just for that application. Works slicker than snot.
Post a request here and I am sure someone will let you borrow it. Wish I had one... |

Re: 38 temp gauge
I wasn't in a hurry, but I just hung mine on the wall in the shop. It return to normal after a while and has worked good. I've read that some will spin it. Not me.

Re: 38 temp gauge
Got it out. OhioRick mentioned a Ford tool for it so I looked it over and fab up a "tool" for it. It was pretty tight, had my doubts if it would work. Once it started to move it came out.
