What's the best lube for a Columbia?

90/140 w gear oil, the same as any early Ford differential or transmission.. Fill/check the Columbia from the Columbia side, this hole is slightly higher than the stock differential plug..

There are specific instructions for filling the Columbia in their installation pamphlet. (I believe it is available as a reprint from John Connolly). Make sure you follow them or you invite failure. Pay particular attention to the part about installing oil, running the unit in overdrive for something like 5 minutes and then adding a specific amount of oil. This is because it forces oil to the inside where the sun gear while running in overdrive and then it drains back out slowly when you stop. I do this procedure on jackstands with the car level.
