Having carb/fuel problems. My car will not be there but I will be. RG 69 Prez Jim Brown will not be there this year with his 1934 Ford Tudor, which is disappointing. Jim is always good for a few laughs. RG 69 bud Randy Stewart will be there, but not sure if he is bringing the 1935 Pick up or the 1935 Ford Tudor.

WE are not bringing the 50 Crestliner. We are bringing the 39 Conv. It needs run. Its loaded in the car trailer, Yes the car trailer and we are leaving Sunday at 8 am. My eyes give me lots of trouble driving so I stop every 2 hours to give them a break. It helps. If they start hurting real bad we will get a room. Barb won't drive with the car trailer on the truck. My driving days are coming to a close it looks like driving distance anyway. Today I went to the local Flee Market and bought about 25 Music tapes for $3.00. I put them in the truck so Barb can play them on the way out there. She thinks I am nuts for buying them. One is in German and she threw it in the garbage. It did sound bad. I sure hope the others are better?

we'll be somewhere behind you as we are leaving in the morning when we get ready. I'll be listening for the German music and will know if I am getting close to you!

Already having fun!

This is what I get for buying four new trailer tires! Thankfully we found it when we had stopped at a truck stop to air-up! Twenty minutes later and we were back on the road, after one other short delay.

The young lady was in distress, we jumped her battery to get her car started, she's praying the Rosary for us tonight!

JM35 made it 100 miles further than we did. We stopped in Zanesville, he made it to Springfield OH.

Tomorrow we hit the US Air Force Museum in Dayton!

We drove the '35 Fordor about 525 miles today. Spending the night in Springfield, Ohio. Will visit the Airforce Museum tomorrow morning, then head for Springfield, Illinois. The '35 is running very well. Ran at about 60 - 65 mph most of the day with engine temperature at 180°-185° F. Gas mileage is averaging about 14-15 mpg

The Air Force Museum is awesome. So much to see, so little time. Maybe a stop back here on the way home to see the other half.

Yep, AF Museum is great. An all day thing for the most part.

Been there a few times.
Last time was 2007 when I flew in the Air Show for the 60th Birthday of the USAF.

V-8 Ford Club member Randy Stewart made me a generous offer to lend me the correct carburetor and fuel pump for the meet, but I have already canceled my trailer reservation and made plans to stop to stay with friends in Mapleton, IL, on the way home. It's just too late. Plus the money I will save on the trailer and fuel will pay for my repairs. I am sure I will enjoy the meet anyways. Thanks Randy, I really appreciate your very generous offer to help.

Well, we arrived here in Springfield, Illinois at about 6:30 pm. Just checked into the Crown Plaza. Lots of nice V8's here already. Heading out for a steak dinner now

Forgot to mention that the '35 purred like a kitten all the way out.

Hi Everyone, As suspected, we spent at least seven hours around the Dayton area. Here's a couple of shots. The last one is of the Apollo 16 Command Module, just one of the seriously legitimate artifacts at this world class museum.

We've holed up about ten miles west of the Indy beltway. About 170 miles to go tomorrow morning. See everyone then!

Just two shots to add today. There are many very nice cars, including several Mercury's and Lincoln's. Will get more car photos tomorrow.

The venue is very nice. All the events will be on paved parking lots so that's nice for the judges to get under the cars. The hotel is beautiful.

I've already seen many FordBarn members.

I went to a National Meet in Bristol Tennessee/Virginia back in the early 80's. it was on a paved lot and we all roasted. We would have preferred soft, cool grass. Have fun all!

From early Tuesday morning...

Dean333, I hear you, I remember a meet where it was about 100 degrees on show day, (Charlotte 2010). We may be okay here, as it will not be that warm, and the pavement is concrete not blacktop, which helps keep the heat down.
