RHD advance/retard control rods
I have a RHD Model, I am trying to find the control rod that controls the advance/retard from the bottom of the steering column to the pivot point on the manifold. Anyone have any idea. Thanks

Re: RHD advance/retard control rods
I think it's just the short throttle rod like if it were a left hand drive. Just the short rod from the column that goes over to the foot throttle assembly.

Re: RHD advance/retard control rods
Tom, what you want is 5 and a half inches from ball to ball. It's slighty shorter than the short rod on the LHD that Logan mentions. I don't know of a source ( let me know if you do find someone making them!) ; suggest a DIY modification if you can't find one.

Yes , I've used brass connectors from an electrical connector strip in the past.

Re: RHD advance/retard control rods
On my Dad's AA and the Cabriolet, both rods are approx 6" long
On our Phaeton, he used what he could find, which are about 5.5" long. They work through the full range of movement, but don't look right.... |
