Re: Tire size
Thanks. Neither actually. They're Ford Ranger wheels.
Here's an example of one with 5.50 16 and 7.50 16 on the stock wheels (the red coupe) from the HAMB. Not sure what the sizes are on the '35 but he is obviously running the original spoke wheels. If I had to guess, I'd say that is a 6.00 on the front. . BTW, I am looking for a '36 rumble seat taillight stand if anyone has one. Have a '35 to trade too.

Re: Tire size
Nice rides, Thanks for the pictures, now just have to decide if I want to go with radials or bias ply. My Firestones only have 1400 miles on them, almost hate to take them off but would like a new look!

Re: Tire size
I'm more than happy with my blackwalls. Looks, Stance & Driveability with bias ply's (using all 85hp). Make a decission and stick with it, too costly to change your mind after. 30' Rdst 5.00X16 F & 7.60X16 R, 34' 4.50X16 F & 7.50X16 R, Future 30' cpe 4.50X16 F & 7.50X16 R

Re: Tire size
I am running 5.00/5.25 x 16's up front and 6.00 x 16's on the rear. Bias ply all around (with tubes). Radials ride and drive better but don't look nearly as good as bis plys.

Re: Tire size
Coker told me that with my stock wheels, 4" wide the biggest tire I could use is the 600-16 or 600R-16, he told me the 650 or 700 are made for wider wheels, 4 1/2 to 5 1/2. No problem on the 550 for the front of course, but really wanted a bigger tire for the back, at least 650. Any other options for tires out there? The radials look nice but are more expensive too!

Re: Tire size
Coker says use tubes with radials, diamond back said never use tubes, whats up with that? I am leaning towards coker classic radial, 550 fronts and 600 rears with 2 3/4 whitewall for the front and 3" for the back. Still look like the old style but with better ride.......Diamond back has not called me back yet with their price

Re: Tire size
This thread is filled with original wheels with 6.50 and 7.00 rear tires. You'll be fine. See post #26 (Dirty Dan's car).

Re: Tire size
Hey Tom, how far are you with your tires?
I have a similar situation on a 37 Ford coupe. What tyre combi have you chosen? Regards Fordson |

Re: Tire size
Went with the Coker classic radials with tubes, 650R-16, and 550R-16 on the front with my stock Ford wheels. They look pretty good and the ride is much better. Wish I could have had bigger tires like DirtyDan but would have had to change the wheels and hubs.
