Default 59A Breather Tube

In the valley, under the intake, lives that factory breather tube.
How is it installed and removed?

I have a decent oil leak out of the external oil pan breather slot.
I suspect that the internal breather tube is not installed properly...thus oil seeping past where that tube is supposed to be seated in the block.

Thanks

1962,
It is merely seated into the block. Generally, it is a tight fit, but can be removed by moving it back and forth to loosen and then grab with something like vise grips and pull it out

If you remove the intake manifold and find the tube is in where it belongs your trouble is the wrong pan gasket. I've seen this before, the 48and older engines gasket set comes with 2 sets of pan gasket sets, the 32-34 engine didn't have that breather in the front of the pan, if that gasket has been used it will leak. Yes , that breather pipe at the front top of the intake manifold came out pretty easy on the 52 Merc the other day. Seemed to just press back in place and hopefully will not work loose when the engine is running. Although I am still a long way from that point.
