Leave it off.

When I drove a Model A from Florida to Ohio for a national meet, one of my Ohio friends asked "How can you drive this far in a car without a radio?"
I told him the sound of the engine was music to my ears.....

Go to a mobile 2 way radio shop and have them fix the problem. It is common and fixable.

IMO, it's easier than listening to the mindless babble of the media.

No idea what kind of radio you are asking about, but one thing is for sure. The Model A has the noisiest ignition system I have ever run into, which induces some mean RFI (Radio Frequency Interfearance). You might find some aid in getting a modern style distributor cap so that you can run resistor spark plug wires. That, and good ground connections all the way around.

Good luck.
