Default Paint over Old Chrome Plating????

I have some w/s and door trim moldings that were chrome plated and I want to Paint and/or wood grain them. I bead blasted them and scuffed them down with 180 grit. What is the best primer to apply for adhesion???

I have used a variety of 2K/epoxy DTM primers over the years but I have found the Advantage 325 to be one of the best for adhesion and sandability http://www.advantagerefinishproducts...r-gray-2-1-voc
I rate how well a primer performs by how thin I can sand it when it feathers out. This primer does not lose adhesion all the way down to where you can see through it.

Sand, prime and paint them as if they were bare steel.

Take them to the local chrome plater and have them stripped down to the underlying nickel plating which has much better paint adhesion characteristics. The stripping is a electro-chemical process that takes only a few minutes and many platers won't even charge you for it.
