1929 Phaeton Folding Top

Have a 1929 Phaeton in my building. There is a problem with folding down the top. The second top bow right and left arms lays on top of both rear quarters when the top is folded down. Damaging paint and body. The second top bow from the front of the car seems to be broken. It has a lot of movement where the right side metal brace ends and the wood crosses over to the left side. I haven't yet removed the fabric around the bow but I wonder how the metal bow is attached to the wood? Bolts or screws? Car has been restored so I don't know what I will find. Would like to know what's suppose to be there. Replacement bows are available but how can you be sure of an installation that will allow the bow to be wide enough to rest on the top saddle outside the car when folded down. Also looking for a rivet kit to remove the cross bow for repairs. Thanks |
