1992 Ford F-150 p/u camshaft chain or gear driven
I was told by a mechanic that the camshaft on my '92 Ford pickup, six cylinder, five speed transmission is chain driven rather than gear driven. From the outside of the engine, it appears to be gear driven. Which is it?

Grasshopper, if I tell you, you'll never learn how to find this stuff yourself. Any shop manual with a 300 six section will give you the answer.

Well, to be honest, there's a gear on the end of the camshaft. It's driven by a chain from the crankshaft. Inputting your vehicle information and a key word into any of the online parts house sites will get you pictures of the relevant parts.
