U-Joint Gaskets
When installing the inner cover and outer cover halves over the universal joint, should any type of material be placed on the gaskets and the outer cover ends to help reduce leakage? Would PERMATEX Copper Spray-A-Gasket hi-temp adhesive sealant be a good choice?
Thanks. |

Re: U-Joint Gaskets
I use clear silicone and wipe off any excess that squeezes out.

A-Man,
I would use Indian Head Gasket Shellac on one side of each gasket and Grease on the other side of the gasket. This way you can disassemble it if you want to take a look at it later and not waste the gaskets. Darryl in Fairbanks |
