Hot needle is a dirty rotten myth started by a real sicko! Fingernails don't melt, but they sure transfer heat very well! Got to cut through the nail with a drill bit to relieve the pressure.

================================================== ==== A drill is what gave him that nasty looking blood blister, and now he's suppost to use a drill to fix it. Hope he don't end up with a bunch of nasty looking fingers using that drill again. LOL .

You guys are gluttons for punishment! A red hot paper clip 'bout killed me once!
Then I cut through the nail with a sharp drill bit and squirted myself in the eye. Immediate relief!

In as much as it being an 18 volt drill seems to have something to do with it, maybe if you used a 12 volt drill it might not have been so bad

I use a sharp point on my pocket knife to drill a hole.

Cecil,
I have done the same. I have carried a pocket knife most of my life, but guys nowadays that I know do not carry a knife. I have given my son knives but when it comes time to gut a deer or cut something, he borrows mine. I guess we are from the old school...

I have also used a small drill bit and turned it in my fingers till it bored through the nail. What a relief. It is immediate. Drilling through the nail has no pain involved, just relief. Those 18 Volt drill motors are sure strong.

Re: These 18 volt drills can get you !
I have a makita 18V drill driver, and it really is one of the best tools I have ever bought. It is very powerful though, When building my garage I used it all the time and my wrist was aching after the job from resisting the torque of driving all the screws in.
Fantastic piece of kit. Good for whizzing out sump bolts and head blots too, once loosened. |

There is an old sayin'.... "A man is worth an extra buck if he has a pocket knife".
Well, I must be one rich guy 'cause I carry more than one. Never can be too ready for anything. |

Re: These 18 volt drills can get you !
I was recently drilling the fuzzy felts for my window escutcheon when I went through the metal and into flesh of my right thumb. Had to reverse the drill out. The nerve endings have taken 8 months to repair themselves.
