Default Wiring Brake_Tail Lights

I am installing additional lights to the rear bumper of my 1930 Ford Model A Deluxe Coupe, to be used as turn signal lights, brake lights and tail lights, The Coupe now has the standard single brake/tail light on the left rear fender. The Turn Signal Kit(6 volt) is from VINTAGE AUTO GARAGE.

In reference to the "Ford Model A Wiring Diagram"(attached) and the wiring diagram that came with the turn signal kit, I have a question as to how best wire in the additional lights for the brake/tail lights.

Would splicing into the "Green" wire between the "Stoplight switch" and the "Stop and tail lights" (shown by dashed line) be the best, correct, acceptable way to wire/connect the two(2) additional rear lights, for them to function property as and in conjunction with the existing single tail/stop light? The two(2) additional lights are grounded by means of being mounted to the rear bumper bracket.

You should not have to run additional wires. Do you have the schematic for a SIGNAL STAT 600 or 800? I will try to find and post it. Is your unit the $20 one that uses a flasher?

Lets see how this link for the Signal Stat works?

If I understand you right you are adding two additional, dual filament, bulbs to your car.

One filament is common between the two bulbs and is used for brake lights.
Assuming your wiring is stock, then yes you need to splice into the green wire.

Rather than splice wires, you can remove the connectors for the tail light and brake light and replace each of them with a 4 connector socket. One for the feed wire, one for the original tail light, and 2 more for the 2 new lights being added. Do the same for the brake light connector. Adding turn lights may change the brake light connections depending on which system you use.

If or when I ever add lights or turn signals, they will be a separate system with their own harness. I think this keeps things much easier to diagnose if a problem comes up.

Bruce, the unit from Vintage Auto Garage is their model TS106, with an A5007 Turn Signal Switch.

Tom, I used the word slice, to simplify my question. In reality, I do plan to "splice" by using the connectors.
I considered wiring with a separate system, but thought this would be simpler, since the connectors are an easy means for wiring.
Thanks for your imput, Tom.

The green wire from the brake light switch should be rerouted to the turn signal switch. Then both brake lights are fed from separate wires out of the turn signal switch.
Something like this generic diagram:

For a look that is more original, install a new taillight on the right side and use them for your turn, tail and brake lights. I use the red/amber lense top (amber) for turn, bottom (red) for tail and brake.
