Default Hub Stuck

The 1st picture is a photo of when I rebuilt the breaks this spring.

The 2nd picture is of the hub puller I attempted to use today. Despite the hub being recently off. The threads in the puller stripped out when I attempted to use it.

The 3rd picture is the current setup I plan to use. Note the parts from the fist hub puller

I am having a tough time pulling the hub.
The car is a 1938 standard. I am running the original brake/cable setup. The brakes are backed off, the tire is off the ground, and the axle nut has been removed. I am looking for thoughts and opinions about the setup before I proceed and do something I will regret. My fear is I will crack the hub. Please include any thoughts on why it is stuck?

Will this KR Wilson style work better as it exerts an even pull all around the hub? See it in this thread.
https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showt...ght=hub+puller
Plus, it has a swivel point which allows the threaded "puller rod" to rotate easily against the the hub.

I only see two pictures and both are the same. You should put a nut
on the end of the axle when using the puller or you will mushroom
the end.

Again; a V8 er in RG #85 [Oregon] had a hub stick because the 'key' top sharp edge bit into the hub. Hub had to be destroyed. I posted photos and the story here. I always round that top edge of the key stock part. Newc

As well as a nut on the hub, I'd put a big clamp across the legs of the puller. I use the Vintage Precision puller and it works well for me.

It may not be the hub but the brake shoes holding the drum in place.

The brake shoes being stuck would only become apparent once the taper is broken. The puller would overcome the brake shoes, damage would be caused but the hub would come off.

I often apply heat to the hub. tighten puller and hub will pop off when warm.

You might try bumping the back of the tire with a 6 # sledge hammer in a couple of places. This shock applied in addition to the puller force will often break them loose.

My hub puller is different, but the directions say to hit the center shaft with a hammer to pop the taper, if needed. Worth a try?

I was going to suggest the same. It may need a shock to break free under tension

Gentleman thank you for the help. Applying all of the suggestions above, made a good application procedure that worked well. It is off, thanks again.
