Default Center Console

I would like to add a center console to dress up my 56 Customline. It has bucket seats and Hurst 4-speed. Any suggestions on what might fit?

Thanks, Mike

I've seen a '62-'64 Galaxie/Fairlane console used in conjunction with swivel buckets in a '56 Parklane and thought that looked good, but then again at the time I owned '63 Galaxie 500/XLs. Another thought is the "shorty" center console used in early '60s Falcons/Comets. Or, just go ahead and custom-build one out of sheet metal or plywood and cover it with vinyl to match your interior and design it so that you can lift it out if needed.

My vote goes to the 60's Falcon/Comet console. Raceron1120 on here has one in his 56 and it looks great. Looks like it came with the car. Downside is they're hard to find and $$$.

Here are pics of my '56 Fairlane from a few years ago while John was still working it. Fairlane/Comet/Falcon console. Hurst shifter on a toploader. Early/Mid 60s GM midsize car buckets.

I think I have another console, not sure what kind of shape it's in. If you're interested let me know I will dig it out and get some pictures.

That looks really nice in there, I've been thinking along those lines for my 57 ranchero, Mark
