1936 helmet distributor advance weights lube
I could use a little input here....the dwell is correct but when I play with the timing slider I can get a smooth idle but it runs ragged at higher RPM's.When I advance the spark,it runs smoother at cruise but rough at Idle.I found that the weights on the advance plate were a LITTLE sticky so I cleaned and oiled everything. My question is,what is supposed to be used to lubricate the plate and weights?Oil or grease? From reading other posts,if I understand correctly, the porous bushing nearest the engine block receives oil from the cam,but is it enough to lube the weights as well? Thanks

Pretty common problem on the weights, we clean and then use a lubriplate light spray grease. Spray on and wipe excess off with rag etc so as to not over do it....
