Reground cams in the US are about $120. and new reproduction ones around $450. . That should give you a guess at a range. make sure it has been stored properly and is true to its manufactured specs. I once bought NOS rear hubs that were ground .005 too little in the bearing race. Somebody must have raided the scrap pile at the factory.

Re: NOS Camshaft Model A 5 Bearings
I recently purchased a 3 bearing NOS camshaft for $225. I think that was fair price for both the seller and me.

If the center cam surface in your block is oversize then a new cam from Bill Stipe would be a better choice ([email protected], (920) 467-9700). His cam would also probably have a better profile.

Re: NOS Camshaft Model A 5 Bearings
To me it would depend on the condition and provenance of the "orig packing". Its value would lie in the display value for my N.O.S. parts collection. Since no one will ever see it in an engine I agree with Charlie, a new Stipe cam is the way to go for a useable rather than display cam. Value? What reason/use do you have for it and how bad do you want it? To me, if the packing is truly original Ford parts and everything is in excellent display condition, probably more than a new Stipe cam.

Re: NOS Camshaft Model A 5 Bearings
I bought my NOS 3 bearing cam for $5. I didn't even know it was NOS, until I got it home and looked it over carefully a few months later.
That sure helps to balance out some of the bad deals I've also gotten over the years. |

If you want a chance to get other stuff make a high offer and then be more conservative on the other offers. You can always donate the original to MAFFI for the tax deduction.
