Cleaning Aluminum Step Plates
What is a good way/solution/polish for cleaning aluminum step plates?

I removed them from running boards and used aluminum mag wheel cleaner.

That's why I suggested mag wheel cleaner. Spray it on and then wash it off. Just make sure it's off the car.

I used the Mother's paste for mag wheels and put it on with a stiff toothbrush. I also removed it vigorously with a dry soft toothbrush ! Amazing results but remember they are not polished like running board step plates !!
