1932 front crossmember
I thought this had been asked before but I can't find it so I will ask now.
Does anyone make an EXACT reproduction of the 32 Ford front crossmember? Every one I see is a hot rod version without the motor mount area on it.

Re: 1932 front crossmember
You might see over on the HAMB board if one for sale, they seem to like to remove stock ones and put in a model A front x member to lower it. They also like to chop a hole in the floor and put in a Model A rear x member to install a quick change. So you might find or advertise for one.

Thanks. Yeah, I have been watching the classifieds over there. Just missed on I think.

Re: 1932 front crossmember
Precision Coachworks in Billerica, Massachusets used to be a good source for stuff like this. Unfortunately the owner passed a few years ago. I believe that some one else out there took over at least a part of the former operation. I search on the H.A.M.B. for "Precision Coachworks" may provide a clue.

Re: 1932 front crossmember
I have never seen a repo. I put in a Model A front crossmember in my Ford Rails. Wish I had just repaired the stock one.

Re: 1932 front crossmember
It's too bad that American Stamping hasn't tried to make the V8 version and the K-members. The Vern Tardel K-Member isn't a bad piece but it wasn't intended to be a reproduction so much as an alternative that was already modified to fit the model A frame. Ford made 4-cylinder versions and the later V8 version and they are just a little bit different. There ares still originals out there but the price has gone up over the years.
