Default Tired of the ugly duckling 37 fords?.......parked in 58....01-A ....aka 40 ford

Something just alittle different. This one was parked in 1958. Other then a aftermarket radio appears all original except that it was originally maroon. Story goes that it was driven home from some were near Philadelphia around 1957 to the family farm. Owned by a school teacher and then parked in the barn. Missing some pieces of trim. Motor still turns and hard to believe the tool tray is not rotten!. Super nice frame. Nice doors. A few minor dents. Its slumber in the barn protected it.

Original keys and the column works like new. Got the trunk unlocked and all the missing trim and garnish was in there

Never get tired of true barn finds! Thanks for sharing, and what a great surprise to find the trim in the trunk, unlocked with the car's real key.

Wow, what a great find. Don't think the chances of finding something like this in Australia, but one never knows. You also get the 37 Ford Hood side panels as a Bonus?

Good thing you didn't find Jimmy Hoffa in the trunk along with the trim pieces.....

I notice the steering is wrapped with plastic tape. This was a popular thing to do in the 50s before we had steering wheel covers.

Ha good one. Before i got the trunk open , one of my helpers made the same comment....Jimmy Hoffa.
Cleaned all the dirt and interior remains out of the car and pumped up the tires. Its now in better storage until some other projects get finished or someone else undertakes its preservation. If it wasnt for me getting it into safe keeping it might have gotten into the hands of a Old Car Whore that would have chopped it up for parts or made it into a ratrod shitbox
