A period photo of a Model A Vicky on an early 1930s lube rack
This is a neat photo we bought a copy of recently that I am sure you would enjoy here on The Ford Barn. Can anyone tell us if this is a 30 or a 31??

I'm not completely sure whether the angle of the photo is causing an illusion, but it looks to me as if it is a slant windshield. If so, late 1931.
Really nice shop. Exhaust evacuation system, waste oil collection system--first rate!! Joe

I have a late 30 (body tag, motor # and Title) with the 31 features. Without knowing the year is there anyway of telling if it's a 30 or 31? When did the drivers seat adjuster change? Was the first design only on the 30's or did it run into early 31?

Foxfire42, the seat adjuster with the "L" brackets on the floor were the standard from beginning of production til about May of '31. About the time of the introduction of the A400 is when the Victoria drivers seat adjuster changed. My Steelback has the early style seats, but was probably produced in June of '31 based on the motor number. Victoria body production lagged a couple of months behind the motors.

it looks to me that its an undercoating dispensing system hanging from the ceiling frt and back of the cars. the techs are spraying under the cars with long application wands. i dont think its an exhaust evac system or oil drain..

Yes Mitch it does look like a undercoating operation, look at the sign on the back wall. I googled LUBESEAL 1930 and I got some kind of undercoating. Look at the tanks on the ceiling.

Like that old photo. Didn't think that they have had sectional garage doors back in that time. It looks like a Model A should look like. Black wheels and no whitewalls.

Suprised no one noticed the rear wheels.. look to be later style ford 16inch rims. Front ones are stock.

Victorias built before May 31 would have had flat firewalls withe the shut off inside the car. The ones built after that month would have the indented firewall and the side bowl carb with the shut off out side.
