New to ford barn and ford period
Hey fellas after owning a 55 Chevy wagon and in process of building it i talked my father in law into buying a 35 ford sedan slant back which Ive been building for him in return for him giving me a 56 corvette dual quad intake with the original wcfb carbs. Very fortunate I think! this is how far Ive gotten in the last year. Stripped it down to bare metal. What Im getting at is without all your guys knowledge I wouldn't have made it this far just from reading everyone else's questions and answers. Just wanna say thinks its awesome to experience this site. Thank you everyone. Will keep looking for more advice because Ive gotten into them even more now. Asked Santa clause for a flat head V and already got it. already have plans of building another hot rod with it when I finish my other 2 projects. Thanks again for all your advice

Welcome to the Barn. That looks like a nice solid start there. What are your plans for it?

Re: New to ford barn and ford period
I also welcome you to the site featuring the best engine ever to come out of Detroit. I think you should surprise your father in law and put the flathead in his corvette. Now THAT would be a conversation piece! But seriously, welcome and great to see more and more interest in the flathead ford.

Re: New to ford barn and ford period
Ive thought about it but the motor is approximately a 48 and it has a Chevy 283 in it now. My father in law wants it to be a daily driver. Sorry ford fanatics, we bought it already changed over

Re: New to ford barn and ford period
It has a 283 Chevy in it with Olds disc brakes and a Chevy rear end. It was modified before we bought it so we left it that way. Am having clutch issues though

Re: New to ford barn and ford period
And I was just about to thank you for not putting a chevy engine in it,lol. Now you must set the world right and put the flatty in the 55. Just kidding, 283s are great engines, I've had a few. But if the car ever goes on the market, 2/3 of the prospective buyers have been eliminated.
