Help me ID this generator

I suspect this is a mixed bag, but would like to hear from you guys. I rebuild a lot of model A and flathead V8 generators and know how they work. I'm less knowledgable about all the little year by year (and month by month) differences - especially the '38 - '41 period where there were many changes and variations.

It is a 2 brush and has output, ground and field terminals. No date code but there is what may be a rebuiiders stamp at the pulley end. The pulley is 4.050" diameter with a keyway, but no key is present. The fins are curved, not straight.

I'm digging through my cores for the next one to rebuild and pulled this one out. But it may very well be mix of parts and therefore not worth the trouble. May be better just to use for parts.

What do you guys think?

Looks like a 39 std.TMK the 39 std pulley has straight fins. Pulley could have been switched out by a rebuilder many moons ago.Whitney in CA who does the alt conversions can give you more accurate answers possibly.

Body is post 1941.
Armature doesn't match the pulley. One has a key, the other doesn't.
Pulley is anyone's guess at this point.

Looks like a parts core (at best) to me.

It looks like one of my conversions to use later two brush and regulator on earlier cars and trucks. One such was on my 38 Zephyr and another a friends 35 pickup. I know it's not right but it worked. Tim

I agree with piston broke, that unit is an attempt to run a 2-brush generator with a fan mount pulley. The case and rear plate are 40-53.

The pulley is a bit of an oddball. With the curved blades, it is an early one. However, I'm not sure any of the early types were made with the larger 11/16" shaft diameter used in the two-brush units. The pulley center hole doesn't look like it's been bored out. I'm assuming that the pulley lacks a cast-in part number.

Does the front plate (mounting fork) have a part number cast into one of the forks? Not all do. My guess is that it is 78-10139 which is a fork-type that fits the larger diameter two-brush case. It may not have been originally mated with that particular pulley though. Hard to tell from the photos.

Ive not taken it apart yet, but I see no number on the pulley. Here is the mount.

No keyway on the shaft. Looks like I'll just add itbto my spare parts pile.
