Default Frame for 1931 Sedan Delivery BasketCase

Hopefully I'll be starting the restoration of my basket-case '31 Sedan Delivery project this winter. The wood is mostly gone or rotten and it came without a usable/complete frame.

First thing I need to know, then, is whether a complete frame I have located is the right one. This frame is a '30/31 frame with a set of rear body mounts riveted to the outside. I have only seen one frame having external body mounts riveted on to the sides. Are there variations of these, or was only one style made?

Anybody else building a late Model A Delivery?

It is a lot of reading to get an answer to your question but Steve Plucker has an excellent study on Model A frames.

I have two delux deliverys 30 & a 31 (late -cast iron drums) and the frames are all the same- you do not need any extra brackets to mount a delux delivery to a model A frame. I am just finishing a 30 and a fella by the name of Gordan Johnson is doing a 31 right now and is about ready to start on the lower side and he may be able to help you with some pictures or info. He may answer this I dont know sometimes guys dont read this for a couple of days. If he dont let me know and I will put you in touch with him...good luck and you will enjoy doing this.....but it takes time and lots of it.

What month are you shooting for? Teardrop or straight firewall?
The frame you are talking about was used on slant window vehicles I believe!
The Sedan Delivery did not require that outside bracket.

This will likely open another 'debate', but I am under the impression that this frame is the final version. The drawings show that this frame was released in September of 1930 and was made with the holes in place for those brackets. The bracket was added only when that frame was to be used on a slant window application. Most of this info is available from Plucks site as well.
