Default C-4 pan fill dipstick problems

Hi guys, I am putting a '71 302 and this C-4 in my '53 F-100. I have an issue with my trans dipstick. It is exactly in the way of the exhaust manifold. I have not seen a dipstick like this one. Others I have seen are closer to the block. What is this from? Can I source a correct tube that will miss my exhaust?

Two easy ways to get around your problem. Seek a pair of exhaust manifolds from a 351 passenger car. They bolt on your motor and are like cast headers. Then buy a 351 passenger Y pipe, and cut and weld it to your specs.
Two; heat and bend the tube to clear the exhaust you have, and shorten the brace.

I am with Ole Don, I have done the heat and bend along with bending /shortening the brace.

Nah, no aftermarket stuff for me. Heated it at the bottom a little and bent it towards the trans then cut the top and rotated it 180 degrees. Looks like it will work just fine and it cost me nothing. Original question though, pan fills must have used a different manifold??

Each design had different dimensions. The parts you have did not match when new, and they don't match now. You did a masterful job of making it better.

The trans is from a truck or the big car line. The exhaust manifold is from a car with the smaller case filled C-4 where the dipstick tube hugs the bell-housing. I'm glad you found a way around it.

Exactly what he says and a nice job forming that tube.

The engine came out of a 1971 bronco with only 50k miles. It was the original engine to the bronco as it was owned by a fire department. It was a manual trans originally.

When I replaced the Fordo with a C4 the tube hit the valve cover. I little heat bn the tube to bend it and it was ok.
