Hexagon air cleaner is here
Just got today my new Hexagon tool air cleaner from Retro Rod Enterprises in California. Great looking, can't wait to put it on tonight and see how it looks. Will post some pictures when I can. If anyone is looking for one of these, this seems to be very well made and comes with a K&N air filter too.

Re: Hexagon air cleaner is here
Well, put the new Hexagon on the motor and I have to say a little disappointed in the way it looks. Its smaller than my old Motor city air cleaner, just looks not right. I love the way it looks off the motor, and the quality is great but just not sure. If I keep it I will have to file some on the inside to fit down on the carbs.

Re: Hexagon air cleaner is here
Maybe it needs some gold color on top? Then make the lettering high polish like my original........

Too small, looks awkward. Your old one was really nice, tied in well with the valve covers.

Re: Hexagon air cleaner is here
Thanks for the comments, the more I look at it the less it seems to fit with my motor. Can't send it back, so If any of my fellow Ford Barners are interested let me know. I paid $290 for it. Really thought it would be cool to have it with my Hexagon intake!

Let it sit on there for a bit. I think it looks a lot more "traditional" than the MCF one. Think of it this way, when is the last time you saw a Hexagon Tool intake on another car at a show? |

Good idea, haste makes waste! Going out of town this week so it will give me some time to digest.

Re: Hexagon air cleaner is here
???? Cmon.. Looks much better. The MCF cleaner looks like it belongs on a SBC 4 barrel intake under a hood of a 70's Camaro. IMO

Re: Hexagon air cleaner is here
I like the Hexagon Air cleaner . Looks correct for a Flathead .To me Flatheads always look a little "smaller" on top and that is a good look . The later stuff has the big hats on top . I would get rid of the K & N . It looks out of place . It would look better ,IMO , if it had a regular air filter or even a mesh painted black or cast gray to cover the filter . Just my 1c . The economy took my other 1c

The original ones had copper "Chore Boy" wool with a fine stainless box mesh screen around the outside. |

Tom's36coupe ...............
I see what you are saying. It looks a little modern. If you are going for the "Old School" look, it looks a little out of place. It's nice though. MIKE |
