Looks too modern? Isn't it a reproduction? It sure looks more period correct than the MCF finned air cleaner. THAT looks too modern to me. In fact, I just assumed looking at your avatar that you had a 4bl because you were running that air cleaner. I will say upon further study, that it looks too OLD for your motor. It has a '40s look, not an early '50s look, in my eyes.

I don't know if its made in the USA, assume so. The spacing on this is 5" center to center, its actually off by about a 1/16 of inch for my intake, I think they are making them to fit more of standard intakes out there, have to grind out a little to fit perfect. When you look at my motor now from the side you can see that its running twin carbs. Think I will sleep on it and see how I like it in a few days, going south to pick up our son from college tomorrow.

Keep it, so much nicer than the other one which to my eyes looked too SBC ish.
You just need to adjust to it, a week or so dwn the line you will wonder what the fuss was about.
Your engine deserves it.

They are also making a Thickstun and Eddie Meyer air cleaner. Do you know if they are the same price as the Hexagon?

Like someone else mentioned, I would cover the paper element with some mesh or something, otherwise it looks good.

The Thickstuns are $300. The small logo EM is $300 too I believe. The big logo EM is usually double that if you can find one. Insane.

I got one like it for the ESD's coupe, single four barrel. it looks great but theres nothing to stop it from rotating.

put it on square and drove around the block, it was sideways. I added a couple tabs to lock against the carb and its all good.

I like it a lot bettter on yours though, its got the right number of carbs LOL!

Tom - I got a '36 slant with a 59AB and I really like the way your water tubes look (mine are one piece and kink). Do you remember the angles you bought and where you got them?

Please run the hexagon if your runing that intake...I'd rather see that then the mcf aircleaner looks 5 times better in my opinion. The mcf one looks way to modern looks like it belongs on a wanna be sbc

I think it would look great if you could conceal the modern filter element.
