Drake has them listed in his catalog. Of course "listed" and "in stock" are often two different things with his company.

Re: Need chrome grill for 1941 pickup
Bob Drake is probably getting ready for the La Roadsters Show. He usually offers a good discount plus delivery to the show. Often early ordering has served me with some things in short supply at a bit of a discount. Ordering early can be risky as an item can be in stock when ordered but the process is stalled while other orders are filled with the remaining stock. It's hard to know how to navigate that. A direct line to some of the staff has worked well to insure the success of the order. Good Luck: Fred A

Re: Need chrome grill for 1941 pickup
When at Hershey last year I heard someone saying that the 40-41 Ford car/truck Std grille is going to have another run made up soon and that they will be substantially more money than what's presently listed. I would check with every old Ford part vendor you know and see if they have anything in stock. Even if it's above present list price, you could be saving money in the long run .....

Re: Need chrome grill for 1941 pickup
Another thing i heard, if they even make another run is that they will only be sold as a complete kit and not just left or right or just a center piece.
They love to collect money and then let you know its back ordered |

Re: Need chrome grill for 1941 pickup
Pretty negative there guys. Some time back I put a standard grille together with parts, not chrome for my '41 pickup. Not all fun and took some time. That Bob Drake ever made those parts takes the heat off of the market for those parts, original or repop. I think that's good. I picked up the side pieces of a Drake standard grille to go with my center, otherwise not sold separately. The other grille parts are steel and good survivors. I got mine and prefer to limit my own snarky comments for thanks that the market for '40 parts is so well supplied. Doing a few '40 fords in recent years would have been far more difficult had Bob and even the late Harold Looney not stepped up and fronted their money to satisfy the market for great car parts. Otherwise contact your pals in Argentina to address your needs. Good Luck: Fred A

Re: Need chrome grill for 1941 pickup
Sorry but Bob does not satisfy the market with "great" car parts. His parts are marginal at best & sometimes that is all that is available, so we are forced to use them. But we should not sing their praises if it is not deserved ! Especially to someone who is new to our hobby.
