Roof emblem
I have purchased new roof emblems and bezels for my 54 Victoria . Is it possible to pop the old ones off from the front or do they need to be removed from the rear ?

Re: Roof emblem
They fasten in the rear. To remove the sails requires a lot of interior and exterior removal.
This is what the backside of the sails looks like.

Re: Roof emblem
A lot of effort is required in replacing the Emblems in Back Window Trim Piece on 1954 Ford Victoria. |

Re: Roof emblem
My apologies. I posted the pictures from my Skyliner sail. I happened across the sails I took from my Victoria parts car. No inner panel on them.

Re: Roof emblem
Thanks for the info ; I may hold off on attempting removal and install as I am planning a roof repaint . This looks like a job for the bodyshop.

Re: Roof emblem
Body shops charge by the hour. It takes a lot of man hours to remove all the stainless trim that surrounds the sail. To get the top crossover above the rear window off requires removing the rear portion of the headliner. To do that requires removal of interior trim pieces. You might consider just removing the trim piece that holds the courtesy light and using a hole saw cut a piece out of the C pillar to access those two nuts. It would require two holes on each side (inner and outer) but with careful planning and some finesse would be a lot less time consuming.
