Just bought my first Model A !!!

Ok, so a couple of you know that a year ago I started looking for a Model A to replace my other classic car at the time, a 1986 Ferrari 328. So I finally found my first Model A and picked it up last weekend. It's a 1931 Slantwindow Fordor Canadian built Model A. It has the black upper and chocolate brown lower with an orange pinstripe and red wheels. The car was restored back in 2003. It seems to have lived most of its life in the Ohio / Michigan area for the last 40 years. I've been told by the last owner that I am the forth owner of the car. I have to say that changing from a Ferrari to a Model A has been a big change, but the A is so much more fun to drive... I get more looks, waves, and thumbs up then I ever did with the Ferrari... go figure, HA !!

Nice looking car. The color is probably Ford Maroon lower, Black Upper, Vermilion Stripe, and
Aurora Red wheels. I second the black walls.

Jeff... my father has a '67 427/435 stock corvette, so I get my muscle car fix with that when I feel like Sammy Hagar .... I cant drive 55. ha

Bob & Russ.... I was thinking about that two. Actually I was tossing the idea of black wheels with white walls. I'll have to look with pictures of Fordors with this color combine with black wheels.

Bob... the lower color is defiantly brown and not maroon. When I first saw pictures of the car, the lower looked maroon to me too, until I saw it in the sun.

You mention younger people being interested on older vehicles. I wish I would have thought to take a picture today. My neighbor owns a 22 T touring. He called to see if I was around today to take a look at my latest T project. When he showed up his 14 year old daughter with a permit was driving. It was her first outing driving the T. She was excited.

I think she insisted on driving since she is a good friend of my 14 year old son that has been helping on my roadster pickup. He made the comment the other day in front of her that he needed to drive a T again cause he forgot how. It was a great day.

Your engine number is a Canadian number. The number on the body crossmember is the body number, not chassis number. The chassis number is on the frame, left side, under the cowl, and not visible without removing or at least raising the body.

Congradulations again on the car !! I like dual mirrors on the spare tires, and wet black powder coated rims with white wall tires.

I think we need a pic of the other addition to the family, maybe all 3 of you in the car?

Also to add to your list of items that need attention are SEAT BELTS.

Congraulations! I have a 31 Slant Town Sedan that I love and I am sure you will love yours also! I drive it every chance I get. Lots of good advice here on the Ford Barn also when you need it. I might suggest joining your local Model A club also. I did that and the help I received when I had problems rebuilding my brakes was invaluable, plus it is fun to go touring with the club. Again, congratulations on acquiring a wonderful car!
