Old car pic ID / quiz
Hi fellas. Some of you may remember my name.
I haven't posted for over a year as my marriage went sideways. In a nutshell we lasted 31 yrs with the good being great and the bad no so much. I'm happier, broker & hopefully getting a tad wiser.... My good friend Lucky passed on this family picture asking what make of car this is? ......I've come to the best source. Sorry, I'm not sure how to display the photo larger? I realize it'll be hard to see unless you copy and paste into your album or something... Thanks for whatever you can do for us. PS...I miss you guys & will be back with picky Model A questions soon as I get my life (and my stuff) back. Regards Craig Lewis. |

Hard to tell from the pic. We can't really see much there. The wood-spoked wheels could be for a whippet.

Craig, good to see you back.
Sorry to hear about the marriage. After 31 years you'd think it was forever, but I guess one never knows. As they say, death and taxes are the only sure things. |

Welcome back Craig, been there and done that--twice. Try to avoid the booze. Life is very short, don't waste any time. It's easy to slip into a funk at this time. Sorry for the lecture. The car in question is a mystery to me. I see General Motors here. It's not a Buick, 4 lug wheels. Maybe a '30 Marquette? Hub sure looks like it.

Life is getting better only problem is I've re-developed a love of old country music that I can't seem to kick. Thanks again...Craig. Quote:

Re: Old car pic ID / quiz
As stated could be a Marquette, also maybe Pontiac, about the right size auto for those.
Really not enough styling details can be seen to nail this one. The light coloured paint around the windows & door swaging was often seen on better class[ than a Ford] cars in the 1929-31 era, but is rarely seen on modern restorations. |

The flat oval wood spoked wheel make me think Dodge Brothers. Bob

Re: Old car pic ID / quiz
Welcome back Craig, sorry about your troubles and hoping for solutions for you.
Im on my second missus now, and I know first hand the sorrow when one's spouse prefers the friends in a bottle. It is going to get better for you in time. Cheers and good luck! |
