As J Franklin suggested, charge the battery. Clean ALL of the battery cable connections really well - be sure all connections are bare metal to bare metal. Do not mess with the mag, it has no effect on the starter.

Did you clean the terminals on the starter button on the floor? If so try bypassing it with jumper cables. Wear safety glasses & gloves - there will be sparks! Again, the dash switch & the terminal block have nothing to do with the starter. The starter circuit is simply; Bat. to ground, bat. to button, button to starter.

The jumper cable test as suggested is your best bet as it by-passes everything else in the system. Connect the cables to the battery and hook up the positive to the starter connection. Use the neg. to complete the circuit. This prevents arcing/ruining the starter connection. There will be a bit of sparking. Hot battery is necessary.
