Gas Gauge Cork or neoprene gaskets?
I am going to order parts to replace my non-working gas gauge in my Model A.
Any thoughts and or experiences with the gaskets? Cork or neoprene? The the last video I watched of Paul Shinn, he used cork. I know there are hundreds of you out there with your own opinions and experiences which I value too! Also does the neoprene float work? I am tempted to get the brass float that Mike's Affordable sells. What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance. |

Re: Gas Gauge Cork or neoprene gaskets?
I have used both neoprene and brass float, no issues with either. Cork gaskets and quite pleased with them. I spread a thin layer of Hylomar Blue on the gaskets, and use two lightly oiled brass rings as well.

Cork gaskets with a light coating of Maple Syrup. Unaffected by today's gasoline components and make a good seal.
