Default 34 pickup bed/cab to frame bolts

My pickup didn’t come with the original bolts to attach bed and cab to the frame so I am wondering if anyone knows of a source I can get them or if you have a 33/34 pickup with the bolts removed can you provide me the number and lengths I need of 7/16 carriage bolts (or I may use hex head bolts).

I spoke to Michael @ ThirdGen today and he doesn’t have any because his kits are discontinued or as in the case of the 8” long ones they aren’t made any where any longer or too expensive to have made. Also open to buying some used or NOS bolts if someone has them.

As far as mount bolts they can be welded properly to the correct length. Too bad cause I will need some in a month. Newc

Most Ford restorers get their hardware from Third Generation Auto. They have the correct style and finish of the original Ford bolts. '34 bed bolts are listed on page 63. I bought a super nice '34 pickup that was disassembled in 1970 and stored inside. All the hordware was gone. I had to buy practically every fastener in Third generations Autos catalog. I ordered hundreds of bolts. That was back when Roy was running it. I received every single fastener I ordered, and everything fit and looked original. Nothing is worse than seeing grade 5 or 8 bolts from the hardware store on a restoration.

Follow up question.
I scrounged together the bolts for the cab and I had my neighbor who is a carpenter make me new pieces of wood for under the cab using my old pieces as patterns.

Now I would like to know about the anti squeak “tape” that is used when mounting cab to frame.

Does it go between frame and wood blocks or between blocks and cab?

What material is it made of and dimensions?

I found a small roll of “tape” in a box of stuff that came with my truck. It’s a cloth material with a rubber coating. 1 1/2” wide.

When I redid the wood in my '41 pickup cab the anti-squeak went between the wood and the frame. It was the original wood that I replaced'

I will second the motion. When I pulled my original truck apart, the rubber pads were between the wood and the frame. It wasn't antisqueek like I was used to, it was about 3/16" think rubber with fibers, like what you would find on an old conveyor belt. I mention this as it might make a slight difference in how your cab sits in relation to the other sheet metal parts.

What you found might be the material I was mentioning. Each rubber pad was attached to the wood blocks with two tacks.

I got my pickup bed bolts from Macs out of Moberly, MO a few years ago. They sell bed parts and complete beds as well.

It's Mack Products, not Macs. Eight inch bed bolts are shown in their current online catalog.
