Default spark advance for turn signals

I read someplace that after converting to mechanical spark advance the spark lever was used for turn signals, can't find it now.
Anybody done this? pictures?

There used to be a guy named Spence on Ahooga who did that to his 29 station wagon. He mounted a double pole, double throw micro switch on the steering column, and used a piece of stiff rubber tubing as a connector. Slip the tubing over the knob on the advance arm, and over the toggle of the switch. Then wire the switch up to the flasher and lights. Sorry, no pics though.
