Default Universal Joint suppliers

Does anyone know of a source for a 1948 Lincoln V12 universal joint? I'm looking to replace a needle bearing type. I ordered one from Mac's and was assured that it was a needle bearing u-joint. It wasn't. I don't need the splined ends, just the universal joint.

Do not use the repop Lincoln u-joint. Friend brought me his 40 last summer because it had ate two transmissions. I rebuilt a third one and installed it. When I put the u joint on and tightened the bolt I noticed it had 1/4" play front to back on the out put splines. It was a repop Drake u joint. They aren't made correctly. I put in a genuine Ford joint and everything tightened up like it should. The u joint should bottom on the rear out put bearing to prevent any forward movement of the out put shaft. Find a good Ford joint and it'll give you no headaches. Every Lincoln joint that I've removed is worn out and has play in it. I know of no kit available to rebuild these.

You might try Fred at Southside Obsolete - Barnfind08 here on the Barn. He had what I needed and at a fair price and shipping. IMO

I used the Bob Drake unit in my 36. No issues, fit and worked like is was suppose to.

If you want an original unit, I’ve had good luck posting on the for sale side of Ford Barn looking for some hard to find parts.
