Default Bumper clamp blue

Just wondering what blue you are using on your bumper clamps ? I used the Testors model paint number 1111. It looks pretty good but wondering if there is a shade that would be closer to the original ? Thanks folks, Robert

I used Brattons with a couple drops of thinner to flow better. Testers would be a whole lot cheaper, but I would be concerned about it holding up to U.V. rays and general exterior use. I suppose if it starts peeling after a year, you haven't lost much, financially speaking.

I did my clamps about 15 years ago and bought the bottle of blue paint from Bratton's. Hope you have enough clamps to use up the paint, otherwise give it to someone that can use it, because once opened the shelf life was less than a year for me.

The original color was Lombard blue.

Referring to Doug Clayton's (with others) Model A Ford: Paint and Finish Guide, the color is shown on the first page of color chips third row, second down....and it is not Lombard Blue. It is in the same hue but considerably lighter. I have a pair of OEM center medallions that are untouched, and was startled to see how light the coat of paint is applied...almost like it was applied very thin with an air brush...
