Default My 1929 Coupe

I know why talk about one of your cars. But I just transfered my white wall tires and wheels from my huckster to the 1929 std coupe. I know, you don't put white walls on a 1929 std coupe! But this is a test. (besides I think they look great).

The old coupe had some nylon tires on it when I bought is a couple of years ago. These tires are typical nylon, they bump when you start up and I also found them to sort of bounce along when you get up to about 20 or 25 mph. So I wanted to try new tires on the coupe before I bought new ones. Thus the temporary transfer of the wheels and tires to the coupe. So it is a test! But the test worked great, the old coupe rolled along without a bump (will not as many)!

Sorry about boring you all with my rambling on about my little 29!

BTW it will be a long time before that gas pump will fill her up. But wish it could, price on it is $.319 per gallon.

Fred your 29 looks good with those whitewalls. Somehow it makes the body stand out.

Thanks Berry. I like your yellow wheels also. It does sort of liven a car up a bit. I kind of like the powder coated black wheels also. When I get to buying the new tires for the coupe they may just have to be white walls.

Fred, I like the white walls on the coupe. I have spare white walls from another project and I intend to put them on my std coupe when I get it ready. There will be very few people who see the car and know that they did not come with them originally.

Looks good. I think that whitewalls look best with dark colored wheels like black or red. I like the horse shoe over the door, it is said to bring good luck when mounted the way you have yours.

I like the white walls as well and have them on my '30 Phaeton. I think it’s a ‘to each their own’ kind of thing...or as silly as debating the age old argument - ‘blondes or brunettes’.

Since you think they look good, what else do you really need to know!

Fred, I went one step further, I've since put on 17" (33/34) black powder coated wheels with blackwall tires on the coupe and have the 21" off to put in tubes and steel valve stems,I think I'll refinish the 21" wheels in gloss black but now I don't know, the cream looks good too.

Fred, what brand were your nylon tires?

As for the whitewalls, see my avatar. I don't have a problem with them!
