On the road again...
Finally after three years of restoration my '29 Town Sedan saw the light of day yesterday. Still looking a little raw and needing a final buffing and waxing I took it for its first drive after many, many years on a beautiful Easter Sunday. I'm glad to report that on the short drive there were no problems and it really surprised me how well it ran on the first time out of the garage.
This car was purchased through pictures and many. many phone calls to the previous owner's agent in the bay area of California. It was a failed project that got stalled and there was no history of repairs or work done from the owner. THe car was in excellent shape with good wood and no rust outs anywhere. As I got into the mechanical end of things I found that actually quite a bit had already been done and done well which made the wrenching part of the project a little easier. The color is Andalusite Blue, or as close as I could come, and was done in base coat - clear coat. The color may be not quite as dark as the original Andalusite Blue but it does look good on the car. At this time I don't plan on painting the reveals around the windows as I like the look without them done. I got my plater to do a brushed nickel finish on the gear shift and parking brake handles but I think they came out a little too "brushed" looking and a little duller that I expected. I know everyone likes pictures so here are several that were taken yesterday. The last picture is what the car looked like when purchased. Cheers, Bob |

Bob, it looks gorgeous! One day we will renew the Andalusite Blue on our Tudor - hope it comes out looking any where near as nice.

Re: On the road again...
You were lucky to find such a good starter project and it finished out looking great. The 29 Town Sedan has always been my favorite for good looks and comfort.
Somewhere I have a picture of the same car in blue with the reveals painted. If I can find it I'll post it for you to compare. |

Here's that 1929 Town Sedan I mentioned earlier with the painted window trim, in bright sunlight. In the shade the blue looks almost black.

Thanks to all for the kind comments! Once all the final details are done on the T S it'll be driven and enjoyed and then on to the next model A project whatever that may be.....

Re: On the road again...
Nothing prettier than Andalusite Blue in natural sunlight. Your TS is yet another shining example of why the 155-A is the "Queen of the Fleet" ( I may be somewhat biased)
