I have an Auto Electric Services mini starter in my 54 (312 eng.) Great unit, been on the car over ten years with zero problems.

You might do better looking for a phone number. There seems to be many businesses that don't monitor their websites and/or emails on a regular basis. Employee turnover sometimes leaves a void on responding to emails.

I bought and installed the same mini starter as you have when I was restoring my 55 292 FMX setup. Much easier to bolt up but I didn't like that when it was in situ the only support the starter has is the two ears that bolt it to the bell housing. It is only an aluminium baseplate on the starter. The majority of the baseplate is smaller than the opening in the bell housing.
I changed it back to the original starter and have put the mini back on the shelf. When and if the original fails I may reinstall it. I just didn't trust it to last the distance.

The ring gear may be alright with the mini starter as they work on the front edge of the ring gear unlike the original.
