40 radiator side shields gap?
I'm trying to get all these pieces test fit before trying to paint. The "air dams" that fit between the grille and inner fender are not reaching the rad. by about 1/2 - 5/8 in. This seems a lot to me and I'm concerned a lot of air could escape going through the rad. here's pix of what I have.

Yes, that is too much space. Is the radiator correctly located? Are those the correct panels for your make and model? Have those side panels been altered? Here are some photos of my 40 Deluxe set up.

Re: 40 radiator side shields gap?
Joel, Jim is correct - too much gap. It almost appears as if the grille is 'tilted" outwardly at the top. How does the grille fit to the hood?

Thanks for your input Kube and 19Fordy for the pix. By the way, does the welt go between the grille and the side piece or is it between the side piece and the fender? |
