Default What's it worth?

I know this topic has been discussed before but I just need your advise on something. What is the best web-site to go too to find out what your car is worth? There is a guy that has a 1955 Fairlane for sale and is willing to do a partial trade for my 37 Ford. He is only offering me $10,000 for my all original car with the original paint and interior. It is a standard 4 Dr touring sedan with the 85 horsepower engine. My car is pictured in my album. He wants $13,000 for his Fairlane 4 Dr town sedan. Thanks. Don

I would check ebay and go to the "completed listings" and look at only what shows up as being sold.

Not for me to say but no way would I trade an original 37 for a run of the mill 55 four door sedan.

For the past year I have been looking for a 55 Fairlane. I'm 47 years old and have a great love for the 50's cars and music. I just do not want to get screwed over on my 37. Don't see many of them around.

If you google 37 Ford Nada it will link you to there and it lists 10,050 for average and 15,900 for high but it also lists a. 4 door 55 Fairlane at 7,525 average and and 11,000 high. I dont know how realistic this is but it give you a comparison.

$14,000 sounds high for a 4door sedan unless it's a real nice rust free original car. Even then it's still high. You can find a tudor post for about the same money. There's a couple of tudors (55 and 56) on e-Bay right now.I suspect he's looking to trade because he can't find a buyer at that price.

Who is trying to initiate the trade? You or him---Sometimes that matters.. There is not always a "fair" trade which is equal on both sides. Typically someone is trading up while someone is trading down. Personally--I think your '37 is a lovely looking car and believe it to be worth far more. Ultimately--it's your choice.. But--EBAY is often not the best place to quantify values of cars or their parts. You have to be careful.

He was the one willing to trade. I feel my 37 is worth more than $10,000.

I find current ebay sales to be quite quantifying to current market conditions, as previously posted.

Asking prices on all sites really mean nothing-
