Default Tire change on my 36' and now it's LOWER

****UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE THREAD****

I haven't posted a bunch on my 36 as it's in limbo as I get things worked out and out for professional rebuilds.

But I thought that I would throw my tire change out for discussion.

I like where it's going but voice your opinion good or bad. Picture is fogged in the later. Went from a 6.00 all around to a 6.50-7.00 set

They both look good to me; each configuration depicts a different style, stock or Hot Rod. It's hard to make any improvements to a '36 Coupe as, in my opinion, they are just about perfect. Vic

Thanks Vic. Yes they are. I keep pinching myself to make sure I'm not dreaming that it's in my garage! What a dork I am :]

It'll be staying fairly stock. Well except for the tire sizes. Easy to change back to 6.00s down the road. Hoping the 7.00 in the rear will give me a 'little' more travel speed.

It is very nice either way. I am leaning towards the latest tires you have on it. Looks a little different than stock which works good in my eyes.

Love your car either way.

As others have said, hard to go wrong either way. I vote for the "big & littles" approach. A bit of extra top end speed plus I like the way it looks. FWIW. Best of luck with your project.

Here is a picture with 6.00-6.50 combo, which I thought looked decent. I ordered the 6.50 first as I knew I wanted at least that size. Put them on the back then the front to determine what the next set should be, a 6.00 or a 7.00 tire. Tires didn't hit fenders up front when turning so decided to do 7.00 out back.

Personally I like how they fill in the open wheel space. I don't plan on lowering it. I have had a few lowered cars, they look great but was a pain to get under them. I don't need jack stands to change my oil!

I'm not seeing the pictures in your post. Checked out your album however, and agree that I like the "big and little" look on the latest photo.

I like the 6.50-7.00 set in the second pic. The 3rd pic is not bad either.

Cleaned up some hubcaps. Painted and striped one-shot on the ring and v8 center.

I really enjoy driving this car! It running like a champ.

very nice combination with the 700-16's on the back...kinda makes it look like a dropped axle in front!! very nice!

Gumpy, I put a 3"drop axle in my 38truck. Drop a truck and raise a coupe? Doesn't make sense does it!

Well I'm going for this look... in a slight stocker v8, white walls, spare tire, hubcap, kind of way. :]

I thought I'd do an update on the 36. I decided to lower it a little, even though and I quote me; "I don't plan on lowering it. I have had a few lowered cars, they look great but was a pain to get under them." :]'

Before
[IMG][/IMG]

On the front I removed the spring. I knew there was something strange with the spring, as there was some sort of plastic between each leaf. I removed all those (which was a 1" of drop right there). Then cleaned the spring leafs and put it back together; minus a couple leafs. I greased between the leafs also.

For the back. There was a couple of 2" drop shackles in the parts cabinet that have been there for some time. Worked great and the 2" extra wasn't too much and retained a nice angle on the shackles.

Replaced shackle bushing where necessary.
