Default F-150 wheels

F150 wheels on back of 47 merc stock rear, are close enough to touch dogbone nuts on rear stock shocks, and would have shredded the tires.Luckily I didn't buy any tires yet.Anyone know of a better choice of 15 inch wheels?I also need a similar pair for front, but the disc kit that was on it has a G.M.bolt pattern.Thanks.

You might look at dodge wheels from around 94-2000. Put some on a 66 bronco to get more space.

Not sure what you mean by a G.M. bolt pattern. Is it 5.50 bolt circle? That's what on my F150's and the bendix rears if your running drums.

On my 39 I have F150/econoline rotor's 5.50 bolt circle. My rear lincoln bendix drums match 5.50 bolt circle. My wheels are Coker 16" 5.50 bolt circle rim's on 3" WW Coker Classics.

The dodge wheels were from a half ton truck.

When the pickup came home it hade a set of late 80s early 90s F150 wheels on it. These are 15 x 7. back spacing measures 4.5" These brought the tire out to the edge the wheel well.

Those wheels didn't look right to me. So I put a set of smoothies on it. These are 15 X 6 with the 5 on 5.5 circle. Back space measures 3.75. 4 years ago they where $63.00 each from Summit. The smoothie can be had in both bolt patterns and back spacing. Those may be an option to fix your problem.

Does your truck have the lever type shocks, next to the rear tires? My f-150 wheels have 4"back space, and the dogbone nuts can almost touch the back side of the rim,and the tires would be even wider. They are 15" by 6"wide.Outer edge of rim,to fender lip is 4 3/4".I haven't been able to find a dimension chart, that includes back spacing measurements.thanks for the response.(47 merc coupe)

The lever shocks were replaced with tube shocks by the PO. The F150 wheels put the tire closer (1/4") to the upper shock bolt. That is basically a shock mount stud bolted through the frame. Not the most elegant set up but it works. The backspacing on the smoothies give just over a 1/2" clearance there.

You can also buy a tube shock and anti swaybar kit from Bob Drake. It's $200,nice setup. Depends on what you want to spend.
